SWE Membership

How can I become a section member?
  • $5 Membership Fee paid to our Treasurer

    or

  • 5+ Hours of Participation from joining a SWE project team or attending GBM, workshops, and other SWE events
  • or

  • Becoming a Collegiate Member by signing up for one of the following:

Any one of the above will qualify you for membership at our section. Sectional membership comes with a variety of perks, including a free SWE t-shirt, voting rights in board elections, and eligibility to run for board positions. However, note that official membership is not required to attend our events and be involved in our organization. Everyone is welcome!

Outreach Programs

Give back to K-12 girls in the San Diego community

Envision

Envision is an annual conference for high school girls to participate in hands-on activities, attend panels from students and professors and lab tours, and hear from industry speakers. Envision is taking place Saturday, February 8, 2025.

EDGE

EDGE is a free, year-long program aimed to encourage more girls into STEM-related careers in the future in collaboration with Women in Computing at UCSD. Participants engage with undergraduate mentors and attend engineering and professional development workshops.

SWENext

SWENext is a K-12 outreach program that allows local students to connect with our SWE engineering community. SWENexters have access to programs, mentors, and resources to help them succeed in a STEM career.
